Fishing Peter Faust with Luke Fallon
Luke loves fishing Faust so much he lives less than 5 minutes from Peter Faust Dam!
Faust is best known for its consistency of big fish and fish over the metre mark. In 2021 our Peter Faust results show that on average 1 in 4 fish are over the metre mark!
Luke has been guiding for barramundi since the 1990’s. Growing up in nearby Townsville, Peter Faust Dam was one of the first dams that he ever fished and he’s spend many years fishing and exploring the dam since.
Fishing is permitted at Proserpine Dam via SIP permits from Fisheries Queensland which can be purchased online here.
Peter Faust Dam is located 20 minutes outside of Proserpine in North Queensland along the picturesque Crystal Brook Road. The airport at Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast Airport) is also the main gateway to the Whitsundays with flights daily via Brisbane and is a convenient option from visitors from further afield. Hire cars are available at the airport.
Peter Faust Dam is also a less-than 3hr drive from Townsville and 1.5 hrs from Mackay.
Accommodation options are plentiful both at the dam (cabin style dongas or self contained camping/van sites) and nearby in Proserpine and just 45 minutes to Airlie Beach and we can also help arrange accommodation for your stay as well as airport transfers, groceries and much more.
If you are interested in joining us on board get in touch now. Last minute enquiries welcome (we live very close to the dam.)

All effort is made to give as much prior notice of reschedule as possible, but no liability is accepted for inconvenience or last-minute change of charter plans by us.
Keeping in mind that Peter Faust is a dam and therefore considered sheltered waters and weather related cancellations are quite unlikely. However, in the event weather conditions make it unsafe to fish, as determined by Luke – ie. storm activity, flooding rain etc – the charter will be rescheduled to a mutually suitable date, or all charter fees paid refunded.
In the event of a weather related charter cancellation, Luke Fallon Sport Fishing is not responsible for any ancillary costs/damages.
Koa has a full range of safety equipment including life jackets , flares, first aid kit and defibrillator on board. Guests shall undertake an orientation and safety briefing before departure which includes a demonstration as to where this life saving equipment is kept.
Guests agree that each member of member of their group is medically and physically fit to attend and participate in the charter, and that the charter will not endanger the health of any member of his/her party or anyone else.
Guests are reminded that the boat is a moving platform, and therefore care must be taken at all times when moving about on board (and keeping in mind where your fellow anglers/crew are when casting lures 😊 ). In particular care must be taken when boarding and disembarking KOA at the ramp.
Guests should understand and appreciate the dangers involved in boating and fishing and assume and accept all these risks in making the booking. LFSGF does not accept any liability for personal injuries sustained whilst on charter.
